Email Marketing: Your Formula for Success

Posted by Buzz under Marketing Tips

Why should you even spend the time to maintain an email marketing list? Well, a better question is: why not? If your goal is to achieve business success, then you need to start with building a list of potential and current customers.

Email marketing can do wonders for your business in terms of profitability. It also helps in establishing client relationships – you can easily reach out to customers you would not be able to initiate contact with otherwise.

Email marketing is simple to begin, even for people who are not computer savvy. All you need to do is write what your business has to offer potential customers and how they can benefit by using your products and services, and put it into email format.

Below are some of the benefits of email marketing:

  • Cost effective: Compared to other marketing strategies, email marketing is one of the most cost effective techniques available. By saving money on this type of marketing, you will be able to put your hard-earned money to other uses, such as expansion, and advertising.
  • Reach a wider audience: Through email marketing, your business will appeal to a larger audience, thereby adding more customers to your client base.
  • Building relationships: The main goal of email marketing is to turn potential customers into loyal followers of your products and services. This is possible only if you include up-to-date information about your products and the services you provide to attract their attention.
  • Provides an edge: Email marketing gives you an added advantage over your competitors who are not using this strategy. By using new technology such as autoresponders, you have ability to reach more customers and respond to inquiries quickly.

Every small business owner who does business on the Web should do some email marketing.  It is a worthy investment that you definitely not miss out on.

Characterizing Your Business

Characterizing Your Business

If a small business owner was asked about his character or title, they would simply say that they are the President or the CEO of their company. They may decide to elaborate on the kind of operations they perform and their main role in the company. However, there is a limit to what they may be willing to reveal. They will probably never disclose how they get results, or whether they do their work honestly and with dedication.

As a small business owner, your character greatly reflects your business activities. However, your position in the business doesn't necessarily define your business. You should ask yourself the following question: what makes you different or unique from other business owners? Once you answer this fundamental question, then you should easily be able to characterize your business.

Below are some of the tips that will help you in the characterization process:

  • Be a visionary: Try to visualize where you see your business in 5-10 years. Write those goals down where you can see them every day. Check them often to ensure that you are heading in the right direction.
  • Clarify your goals: Define your goals and make sure that they correspond to your vision. Keep it simple: set realistic goals. You must also understand that this step should not be set in stone. Allow yourself to be flexible as the needs of your business change.
  • Plan your operations: Every business has to map out its operations and your business should be no different. Diligence in this area will ensure that your business runs smoothly and effectively.
  • Provide training: Your employees must be trained as appropriate so they can perform their duties efficiently. Provide your employees with the necessary training to increase productivity. Employees will then be confident that they have the tools they need to get the job done right the first time.

Characterizing your business isn't hard. Follow the steps above and you'll be on your way to being the proud owner of a successful small business!

How to Place PPC Ads

Pay Per Click (PPC) is nothing but an advertising tool used in the search engines. It is a medium through which advertisers pay the search engines that offer pay per click ads only when a visitor clicks on that particular ad.

With respect to search engines, advertisers bid on keywords to be used in the advertisements. When a user types in the keywords or key phrase in the search box, the ad posted by the advertiser is immediately shown to the user. Due to so much competition, advertisers are often left confused as to where to market their websites most effectively.

How to Place Successful PPC Ads?

These tips can help you in your pursuit of profitable PPC ads, enhancing your business growth, revenues and popularity.

  • Avoid the obvious: Never use those keywords that would seem to be obvious, because they will be too competitive. If you can't come up with specific keyword phrases, use a keyword suggestion tool like Wordtracker. The use of specific keywords saves you a lot of money – and at the same time targets the traffic that you're looking for.
  • Start out small: Don't aim for the expensive search engines right from the beginning. Start out small by using search engines like Dogpile. When your site gains popularity, aim for the big boys like Google and Yahoo!. PPC can be expensive — don't invest heavily until you get the hang of it.
  • Beware of click fraud: At times, it is just not worth it to be in that prestigious number one position. There are always some people out there who click on anything that they can. Keeping in mind that click fraud exists can save you from spending unnecessary money.

The world of PPC can be confusing and expensive. It also has the potential to be enormously profitable. Balance your PPC campaign with good research and common sense, and you will get better at placing profitable PPC ads.
